I came across this photo I had taken last summer in Galena. While trying to recall the moment behind the camera, I found myself heavy hearted. A longing deep for familiarity and safety - as this captured moment suggests overwhelmed. It's been a while, last Curt and I enjoyed a sense of home and belonging. We miss old friends who walked with us for years, we long for family near... known streets, buildings - the list goes on.
We look forward to see how God will help us to grow the things that were lost along the way. There is much of our inheritance that we squandered away, yet His mercies continue to surprise us each and every day. He takes our questionable choices and lightens up our lives. He gave and is giving us what we didn't deserve instead of what we did earn. God finds much pleasure in restoration. This my friend's is - Pure Mercy. May our Churches be found with doors wide open to all. May we welcome the most elite, unaware of their impoverished places ... and the least, unaware of their wealth and riches. I don't know how it happens, but your word is changing me... Mark 4:26-28 He also said, "This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters the seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. |
